I'm buying a digital SLR camera. Between the Nikon D40 and D50, which?
I have the D40, and my daughter has the D50. Get a D40, Nikon since it is the smallest and lightest digital SLR camera and has all the features are likely to need, and more. The D40 (and X) are the only Nikon digital SLR (now, anyway) that you can mount and use almost all F mount manual focus made since 1959! Of course, no autofocus meter with glass or old, but you can still take great pictures with lenses faster, at lower cost more to buy new glass autofocus (and measurement the eye is easy.) The other Nikon DSLR bodies (D80, D200) You can also use some older lenses, but only made from about 77 (still a few).
