ok so I'm 13 (girl) and I need help in choosing what type of camera i should buy. I love photography, but at the same time love love to travel and take pictures and adventure travel. climbing hiking, etc.. IDK to choose, SLR O REG. ? Comparing the S90 with a digital SLR is not very fair! I have So I use both and they complement each other but each has its own advantages in certain situations. For maximum flexibility, capacity to receive vaccine, and the picture quality can not beat a DSLR. There are some situations where an SLR is just enough. However, carrying around the bodies, lenses, flashes and other accessories can be a burden. Sometimes it's okay but sometimes is a pain. The S90 is a wonderful little camera. It is full of useful features is capable of very high image quality (within its limitations), and best of all, you can take all day and not realize that they are carrying. For purposes general travel the S90 should be fine, but if you want to do some more specialized photography is not until the jobs. Unless you are taking photos of subjects that need the speed and responsiveness of an SLR, you'll probably find that the S90 will be good enough. If you think your long-term plans require an SLR photography, it may be best to start building a SLR now. If you can afford, buy both and the best of both worlds!
