How to protect a straw hat to wear?
I'm already missing summer a LOT. I wear a straw hat in summer and last summer I went through several cheaper because they would suffer damage caused by water and the sun and the fray. I recently bought one that I really like and wonder how to protect it. I bought a can of spray lacquer / wood sealer, but I have curious if anyone has had luck with this. Or know of a better way to protect it. Keep out of sun or away from water is of course not the answer, as it is your destiny!
I can not say I've had a straw hat, but I'm guessing that its probably one of those things probably only have to pay more for better quality. more expensive brands give the hat a quality finish, while cheaper brands tend to skimp finishes and such, so theres your first choice. I test the wood sealer, but I'm not sure if that will work unless your very sticky. Spray adhesive or just your average white tail could contribute to, and PVA dries clear so it does not look terrible if there was a ring around the rim of the hat. I hope I helped =]
