How much import tax on a digital camera costs 500 pounds?
I want to buy a Nikon D90 as cheap as possible, but risk my money. So I found a reliable U.S. online store that will launch the camera to me (shipping 30 pounds) at a price of 500 pounds of the camera. A saving of around 170 pounds for the UK retail price. With what I imagine I could buy a charger adapter or batteries. I guess it could still be go on saving up around 110 pounds before tax. But I can not seem to know how many VAT taxes will be on the track when entering the United Kingdom, I guess I'll have to pay. Is it just a fixed rate of 12.5% or is there some magic percentage that need to be considered. Is it worth it? O for peace of mind I would simply cough up the extra cost to the UK is expensive? Anyone who had experience with this?
There is no import duty 17.5% VAT sapporo just right, some items slip through, but parcel services are dramatic as they claim, especially since they can charge the fee mentioned – as are benefiting. the uk value of the item only be considered if there is a problem in determining the value in the plot. Sometimes the value is not specified, or writing can not be understood or simply too that values how was paid in order to try to avoid import taxes. so while the seller is honest and place a copy of the bill can be seen by the officials, the customs will be happy with the valuation.
