Good digital camera for taking pictures indoors?
I have an old Kodak camera I would change, and the Boxing Day sales next I would get a new one. I would be using it mostly indoors in pictures of things on Ebay and such, so you need to run well there, but has to take good pictures outdoors as well. I have read many comments about what is good and what not that my head is swimming. I've had good luck with Canon in the past, so I'm leaning more towards them, but I would be open to other brands as well if the features are perfect. I do not want a Sony due to memory stick. I'm also on a budget, so it must be less than $ 150 – $ 200. One display, plus an LCD screen would be good. Bonus points if it is of a color other than black or silver (but not pink), because that's boring. I know I'm asking for much here, but surely there must be something out there that meets my needs?
It will be difficult to find a good indoor camera (without flash) in that range. Things that allow cameras to shoot in low light are the sensitivity of the CCD and the maximum aperture (f-stop). A large opening usually means a larger lens, which means more money. The camera manufacturers usually make the CCD more sensitive to make them larger, with more space between the pixels.
