Is it necessary to do the pulldown thing with the Canon HV30 PAL version?
I am thinking of buying a HV30 for some comic sketches that id like to have a good movie-ish look. The thing is I do not understand any of this down jokes. But I heard the PAL version of the HV30 does not have to go through this? Is that true? Or have I misunderstood something? I would buy an HV40 but I can get a 30 dramatically cheaper to allow me to buy extras more, such as lenses, filters and editing with Sony Vegas. Thank you.
Forget 24p – is more a marketing ploy than a real advantage. The HV40 has 24p native but it sounds like you'll get a better deal with the HV30. Lenses are not going to do much for you – you will be better spending the money on a tripod and lights.
