How do I clean the head on a JVC mini DV digital video camera?
My view of the camera the display shows the image be divided into small segments and the message (needs head cleaning) appears.I tried a cleaner cartridge that comes with a regular film cassette no avail. I can not find a camera store that wants to talk to me about it. JVC I called the number several times without success. I also spoke with two different JVC repair centers and have not yet succeeded in answering my camera is GRDVL500U problem.The model, and was bought 11/30/2000.Any suggestions are appreciated.I think that the new digital cameras have the camera repair shops out of business, at least in my local area.
get another cleaning tape. find a wet system. try several times. if this do so may have a clogged head if you're brave to get some finished chamois swabs and some cleaning liquid. Try Radio Shack. Remove the cover over the area where the tape loads soppy wet swab against the drum head pressure and turn head withmoderate below the swab several times
