I have recently been stolen. My insurance policy is "new for old." What does this mean exactly?.?
For example, a camera Sony digital was stolen which was bought for 300 pounds, approximately. 5 years ago. He was a top model "in the moment." The insurance company wants replace it with a camera of similar specification is the entry level today. Camera technology evolves so quickly that they become very dated quickly. The equivalent of today's 'high end' Sony camera is approx. 400 lbs. What I can do? (I also had a 6yr old hp latop stolen – bought for £ 2,000. The same specification. Today's laptop – 600 lbs. Is this "as an equal? Is there a difference between" like-for-like " political "new for old 'and?)
The above answer is right – I think you're upset because (besides being stolen – my sympathies, of course) feel hard done because you pay charges for something that can be much cheaper now. you "New for old" is really a great improvement over what insurance companies used to do, which was to reimburse the selling price for their products – and (I think I'll admit) that the sale price of your old camera and a laptop that has been almost nothing. They would only reimburse the amount it would cost to buy a second hand-year-old camera etc-5 Basically, you'll be getting back all its products, but new, except, of course, will not be top of the market place because the market has changed. An insurance policy which replaces the high-end products with the latest high-end products from this does not exist, unfortunately.
