Canon Rebel XTI is a way forward for a good-quality digital camera?
I'm looking to finally upgrade to a camera I can take good pictures really looking to, I'm tired of taking pictures that would be awesome and only end well. I have seen some taken by the XTI and wondered what everyone thought that if I wanted a quality camera under $ 1000 and what you think of the lens that comes with the kit. Just looking for a little advice. Thanks in advance.
From CW mentioned the Nikon D80, you might like to read a comparison I made in the two chambers. Please understand that, at this level how you feel with a camera is probably the most important factor in your purchasing decision. If you have handled the Canon and I like it, buy it. In fact, it is an excellent camera. I understand that the kit lens leaves much to be desired, so you may want to look into an upgrade right of the bat. One of our dedicated users of Canon EF-S recommended 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (28-135 equiv.) ($ 500) http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid = 149 = 10 511 and models http:// www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-S-17-85mm-f-4-5.6-IS-USM-Lens-Review.aspx well. If you set the Canon, read no further. If you aer still trade on … Comparing the Nikon D80 vs Canon XTi 400D/Rebel Bookmark this page: The http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond80/page21.asp The first thing I notice is that Canon does not have a foot of ground. I just added that in the XTi, but I think the criticism of the past not be heard in Canon. The Nikon definable User Auto-ISO is a nice feature that lets you define a couple of parameters about what is acceptable to you and what does not. I do not think it would be to tie, however, if you can not decide between cameras. The D80 has a pentaprism and the Canon uses mirrors. "They" say that mirrors are quite OK, but I would expect the pentaprism with a bright viewfinder. The Nikon lets you do actual multiple exposures in the camera and some people think this is very well. Click "Next" and go to page 22 and see some comparisons of the image. Click "next" a couple more times to see more direct comparisons on page 25. Click "next" a couple more times to see some noise level comparisons on page 27. A I really seems like the D80 has actually tamed the noise better than the XTi, but read the comments about the softness of the image. Click again and see that the D80 is clearly the winner in the sharpness of the image. Go to next page and read the conclusions. You can go side by side in 2Cnikon_d80% http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_eos400d and display all the = and click on "Our in-depth review" and "Read owner" for each camera. The last line in the journal Nikon D80 says: "If you're a more discerning photographer who can see the advantages of the whole 'D80' might well consider the extra money well spent. "The last line in the critical 400D/XTi Canon says:" Thanks to his bloodline and lower prices for the EOS 400D, no doubt, a great success to Canon. However unlike the EOS 350D, for me and not the first or obvious choice, so before jumping on the bandwagon to make sure that you have to weigh the competition. "In other words, they selected the two best cameras in its price class. Canon is probably saving a little money using its CMOS sensor and this will bring market share. If the sensor and the images are better or not is open to wild debate based on personal preferences. If a camera feels better in your hands could be the determining factor. You have to go to a real camera store and handle both. I guess Costco, Circuit City or Best Buy would also have actual samples on display but you can not get much help from the staff. As for the choice of target, I'd rather see you start with a worthy goal in place of the kit lens, although kit Nikon Lens (18-55) has actually tested it enough. (Canon has not.) For Nikon, I like the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G ED. This costs about $ 300. Bought this for my wife on her D50 and liked it so much (for money) I bought as a backup one of my cameras. Canon, one of our best responders (Panacea) recommend the EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM. This costs about $ 500, which spends $ 200. Price difference of course, you need a decent memory card and recommend a real Sandisk Ultra II (60X) or Extreme III (133x) of at least 1 GB – preferably 2 GB – either camera. Lexar is another excellent card supplier and have the "professional" 133X, as well as the Platinum 80X to choose from. Both Lexar and SanDisk come with image recovery software and limited lifetime warranties.
