I've been using my Casio Exilim digital camera as a video camera. I prefer to use as compact. My main concern is the need to purchase items additional operation, like a normal video camera. Your videos are very bright in future use to try to avoid direct sunlight or shooting near a light source that is bright.
Vado advantage competitive is that it supports three shooting modes: HD Plus, HD and standard definition video. Since it has a 8GB storage then you can actually create 2 videos in HD mode Plus. Of course, standard definition video (VGA) resolution will give you more hours of recording. This flexibility in recording given a lot of variation. Also, keep in mind that if your intention is to record video then you really have to invest in extra batteries or an external charger. You can also use your laptop or netbook if you ran out of memory space. I like its flexibility and USB connection that comes with wires high definition connections to your television.
