Evolution of digital camera

Remember the old days, when buying a digital camera meant choosing between two or three models? That was the year 1995, and had literally only three digital cameras that had been introduced to the consumer market at the Apple Quicktake 100, the Kodak DC40, and Casio QV-11. At that time, it was easy to get information about each camera and decide which is best for you. Well, those days are gone forever. Now, if want a new digital camera will have to sort through hundreds of different models and make countless decisions, like how many megapixels you would like have your camera, what type of media you want your camera to store your images, and what levels of digital and optical zoom you need … not work easy, especially if like me you're not sure what a megapixel.

Recently I decided that my old film camera and took needs an update the momentous decision to buy my first digital camera. I have always been one of those people fleeing the new technologies, friends and family I had been saying for years that it was time to go digital. According to them the benefits of having a digital camera outweighed my fear of high-gadgets technology. They told me I could save a fortune on film and development costs, I could see my pictures at once, edit them on my own computer, and print only that I wanted. Therefore, I decided I wanted to jump on the bandwagon of technology and I'm just a small digital camera.

Easier Said and done.

Several disappointing trips to electronics stores in my area left me confused and lower chamber. I've never been intimidated by vendors, but the electronics stores were completely overwhelming. I had no idea he had for many digital cameras on the market today and had trouble even understanding what vendors were talking about when they pitched their products! Megapixels, CF, CCD, ppp, MMC … Does anyone know what these terms mean? Finally I decided to try Luckily the Internet, where I could at least search on my terms, without roaming vendors in the comfort of my own home.

I tried the big online shopping sites first, but found most of them even more daunting and confusing to the shops. I've been using the Internet for years, but had difficulty finding my way in most of these sites. Not only that, but it was even more digital cameras to choose from than in the stores! No had thought possible. I need guidance … guidance impartial in a language I could understand.

Finally, I found a new site called www.techselector.com web. The site promises to help me find the product you are looking for every time in four easy steps. After my previous experiences had my doubts about this, but decided to give it a try. I was instructed first to choose the product category you are looking for – Digital camera – and then completing a brief questionnaire multiple choice. I expected the questionnaire to be tedious, full of terms that do not understand, but it was not. It was simple, and any technical terms I explained in everyday language. After completing the questionnaire, the site generates my own product report, which listed the best products for me based on responses to my questionnaire. The report was easy to understand – I saw pictures of the products, view detailed spec sheets and compare different products. After a few minutes to read through my report of the product, I made a decision and with the click of a button, I bought my first digital camera.

Clear it is not 1995, and there's more than three digital cameras to choose from, but today's cameras have amazing features that we could not imagined at the time. Do not let the overwhelming selection of available models and technical jargon confusing you from getting a great new camera or any other new gadget high technology. Techselector.com has a number of different categories of products, technology guides and glossaries that can help you understand all terms and characteristics. Best of all, the site can help you sort through the different products and find ones that suit you best – quickly and easily. My new camera Digital came a few weeks ago, and already I have almost forgotten what it was to buy the movie. If I had known it would be so easy to find the perfect digital camera for me I would have done long ago.
