Why I can play Netflix movies on my TV when my laptop is connected via a VGA cable?
I recently purchased VGA cable to connect my laptop to my LCD TV LCD. It works fine in most cases, but for some reason no instant Netflix movies do. The movie playback on the laptop, but the TV just shows a purple box. Does anyone know why or how I can fix? Thanks in advance!
Sounds like the dreaded DRM. WatchInstantly Netflix movies are protected by Microsoft's software digital rights management at the behest of movie studios. Playing through the television can not afford in the Byzantine logic of intellectual property protection. They are afraid you to digitize the analog output (the so-called analog hole) and "steal" his films. Its all a real pain.
