Is this a decent Canon zoom lens for the money?
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XTi with 18-55mm standard lens. I want a zoom lens (100-300 more or less) but I'm on a serious budget. Craigslist I saw someone was selling an old Canon EF 100-300mm zoom for $ 100. I know that this objective is not large, but a value of $ 100 until I can afford a really nice one? Also, would it be able to work on my camera with an adapter? What kind of adapter you need?
$ 100 for Canon EF 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM is a very good deal. The lens is known for mediocre telephoto image (eg 300 mm) with stabilizer image and not on tele can be difficult to hand. I would spend more than EF-S 55-250mm IS f/4-5-6 or EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (or find used), but $ 100 100 to 300 is not bad (assuming it's in good condition). Canon has no area of 100 to 300, although there are some supplements that can work with him.
